The
KB500
is a technologically advanced aluminum version of the Big Block Chevrolet
engine. The KB500 can be used in a variety of street or racing
applications, such as boat racing, Pro Stock or any of the “Pro”
bracket racing classes. A 540 cubic inch version of the KB500 was the
motivation behind Hot Rod magazine’s Keith Black Camaro project car,
which illustrated the true versatility of the KB500. The block will accept
all factory and aftermarket parts common to the Chevrolet Generation IV
454 block. The KB500 block package includes: fully machined block with
race-ready removable sleeves, main caps, installed cam bearings, special
aluminum screw-in core plugs, installed front cover and head dowels, head
stud kit (of your choice) and all necessary hardware.

The
KB600 Oldsmobile block uses big
block Chevrolet internal components, which are available through Keith
Black Racing Engines. Cylinder heads and manifolds are available through
General Motors. The blocks are cast from the same 356 T-6 virgin aluminum
that all KB Blocks share, (except for the Stage 15 fuel block) to ensure
only the highest quality material. A multi-pattern bell housing pattern is
machined into the rear of the block for use with GM or Chrysler
transmissions. The big block Chevrolet or Oldsmobile head bolt pattern can
be machined in the block.
KB600
can be made to accommodate up to 5 inch stroke crankshaft
